Aster is September’s flower and is absolutely perfect for fall rustic wedding as it calls to mind serene mountain meadows. “Aster” means “star,” and in numerous cultures around the world, the flowers are believed to be enchanted and ward off evil. In the language of flowers, asters are a symbol of love, faith, wisdom, valor, hope and patience. In addition to all that, they’re also simply beautiful flowers and a great filler for bouquets and centerpieces (especially since they come in dozens of colors, though white asters are most commonly used for fillers). They are abundant in September and a great addition to any fall wedding, whether incorporated through actual flowers or through cute spin-offs, like the gold DIY garland pictured below.
