Molly and Brian’s DIY Rustic Wedding

Breanna Elizabeth Photography

Molly and Brian were married this past July in Tipp City, Ohio. Molly is an art teacher, explaining why all the DIY details are so crafty and beautiful. The bride designed many pieces of the day, including our favorite wedding favors that we’ve yet run in to: handmade ceramic mugs. Breanna Elizabeth Photography said, “I loved that Molly and Brian took time to soak up their wedding day. During the reception, they snuck away for some sunset portraits which gave them a moment to slow down and enjoy being newly married!” After seeing these images we knew we wanted to know more about the DIY aspect from the bride’s perspective. Here’s a few DIY projects this Bride created with a little help from her family and friends:
-Handmade ceramic cups for gifts.
-Paper straws with sticky tags that say, “To have and to hold and to keep your drink cold – Love Molly & Brian”
-Hand stamped name tags.
-Hand-drawn tree for their guest book where they could leave their fingerprints as leaves, (the sign said “leaf your print and twignature” – how cute!)
-Ribbon wands to wave at the end of the mass.
-Brian’s Dad, also an artist, made a giant G for behind the head table.
-Paper banners for the “thank you”, “Mr. & Mrs.” and “Restroom” signs.
-The bride handmade t-shirts for their bachelorette party and the bridesmaids wore them the morning of getting ready.

We love how Molly used her artistic abilities to create a personal DIY touch for her rustic wedding. Her biggest advice for DIY brides is to start early! But most importantly, cut yourself off from Pinterest the last month of your planning. She says it will help you avoid adding more and more projects to your plate (we love this advice!)

Thanks so much Molly for your DIY insights! And also a big thank you to Breanna Elizabeth Photography for capturing all the details of this day so perfectly. To see more images from this wedding visit Breanna Elizabeth Photography’s blog.
