Thanks to René Tate for sharing this wedding recently shot at the Robinson Mansion in Canon City.
Georgia and Kent are a friendly Missouri couple, who decided to do a destination wedding close to family in Cañon City. They were scheduled to tie the knot just a mile or two from the Royal Gorge Bridge. However, the day before their wedding was the day the Royal Gorge fire started. I believe Georgia was rafting and Kent was zip lining when they got word that they needed to evacuate ASAP. Needless to say, their wedding plans were completely changed in a second. Fortunately, the beautiful Robinson Mansion was available on short notice.
All fires aside, Georgia and Kent’s wedding was one to be remembered regardless. These two have had their hard times. I’ll never forget how sincerely Georgia told me she knew Kent was the one. She said, from the second he entered the room, she got this chill through her body and she new instantly he was the one. She said it truly was love at first sight.
By the time Kent was ready to pop the question, tragedy struck Georgia’s family when her two oldest children died in a plane crash.
They decided to move forward with the wedding, and you know, I just am so thankful that Kent met Georgia when he did. I am so thankful that they had each other as they moved forward and processed this unimaginable event.
I am also so amazed at how these two have persevered and how much positivity, love, and excitement poured from them on their wedding day. Obviously, this was an extremely emotional day as well. I am so very honored to be the one to capture it. – from René‘s blog.
