While the overall theme of your wedding may not be rustic, adding a rustic touch here and there can be a great way to bring a homey and lighthearted feeling to your wedding. Chelsea & Jacob, for example, chose a venue in Southern California and a fresh color scheme composed of light and deep purples and a cream, not necessarily what we typically associate with the rustic vibe. Their inclusion of homemade cookies, potted flowers in weathered wood planters as centerpieces, adorable personalized laser-cut wooden cake toppers on a simple cake, and wildflower bouquets, however, all help to make this wedding feel approachable and a lot of fun. And as Chelsea and Jacob’s wedding shows, just because you’re interested in having some rustic elements in your wedding, that doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice having snazzy or elegant touches too. Just look at how smooth the transition is between the wooden planters and the deep purple satin table cloths.
