Eleanor and Giovanni welcomed guests to 701 Whaley for a modern rustic wedding complete with quirky touches.
A teal door festooned with sunflowers served as an altar backdrop for the ceremony. After the “I do’s” the party continued to the reception, where more sunflowers and playful pops of blue brought a cheerful air to the venue’s industrial charm. The couple took care to select a menu that celebrated the bride’s South Carolina heritage and the groom’s Pittsburgh roots. Guests noshed on barbecue and fried okra, followed by a cookie bar featuring treats made in Pittsburgh. Eleanor and Giovanni wowed guests with a “first fight” instead of a first dance, a nod to their first meeting as fencing students in college.
